Data/Sink/Table

Introduction

Data sinks are generally used to catch the output of a model. There are two forms of data sink: text-based sinks and tabular sinks. In the case of tabular sinks, messages are interpreted as table entries, and the sink's contents can be displayed as a table.

Tabular sinks expect to receive messages of the form

Such messages are interpreted as indicating that the table entry indexed by the values of "Row" and "Col" is "Value". This new value will supersede any previous value associated with "Row" and "Col".

There is no limit to the number of data sinks you can have in one model, and multiple data sinks will behave as independent devices.

The Table View

Tabular sinks can be viewed as tables by selecting the appropriate view from their Mode menu. The standard printing procedures may be used to print these tables.
