Installing the models

When downloading a model, you should ensure you select the appropriate version for your version of COGENT. They have been tested with UNIX COGENT 1.10.04, WinCOGENT 1.02.05 and SWI prolog version 3.1.2 on both platforms.

Installing models in UNIX COGENT

To get a project from the archive into your version of COGENT, download the UNIX COGENT version of the file (preserving its name, and its ".tgz" file extension) into your COGENT archive directory. If you haven't explicitly set up a COGENT archive directory (and told COGENT what it is) then use your home directory. Next, fire up COGENT and select "Extract..." from the main Research Programme Manager. You should be presented with a list of archived research programmes. Select the one to extract by double clicking on it and all the necessary COGENT files for that research programme will be automatically created.

Installing models in WinCOGENT

To get a project from the archive into your version of COGENT, download the WinCOGENT version of the file (preserving its name, and its ".ZIP" file extension) into a directory of your choice.

Next you need to ensure you have software to unpack the ZIP compressed archive format (.ZIP files). This does not come as standard equipment with Windows, so you may well need to obtain it and install it yourself. One good shareware Windows utility to unpack .ZIP files is WinZip. You can unpack the files to any directory you like. Once unpacked, you can open the files directly in WinCOGENT

To submit a project to the archive contact R.Cooper@bbk.ac.uk.
